Austin Brown Dogs

The Shelter Dogs Who Rescue Us

Austin is the largest no-kill city in the United States, and for many of us, our fur families are as near and dear as our biological families. In particular, it’s the rescue dogs—with all their quirks and neuroses and their boundless capacity for love—that enchant us most.

AUSTIN BROWN DOGS: THE SHELTER DOGS WHO RESCUE US, created in collaboration with Weeva, celebrates that incredible bond between Austinites and our rescue dogs. Through contributed essays from adopters (along with photos of their beloved adoptees), this book illuminates the intimate stories of all the ways the dogs we’ve saved have impacted our lives.

Production of Austin Brown Dogs will be funded by donations from local dog lovers, and a portion of the proceeds will support local rescue efforts through Classic Canines and Friends of Austin Animal Center.

Launch Party Tickets Are Now On Sale!

We’ll be celebrating this book’s launch at Batch Craft Beer and Kolache on October 20, and you and your pups are officially invited! There will be paw-tographs, paw-parazzi, a silent paw-ction, and treats galore for humans and dogs alike.

The book will be released in mid-October, but print runs will be limited. In order to ensure you, your pup, and all your pup’s best buddies receive copies, I highly recommend reserving yours through the publisher’s website.

To maximize the proceeds going directly to support local shelter dogs, I’m collecting donations to fund production, printing, and marketing. Individual contributors can donate via GoFundMe by clicking the button above.
